Update to Rounding Calculation Logic

Hi there,

We’ve identified and resolved a minor discrepancy in how Rentopian handles rounding for line item to calculate totals. In certain cases, this was causing a minor difference (around $0.01 or more) between individual line items and the overall invoice total.

To address this, we’re updating the calculation logic to ensure greater consistency and accuracy.

This change will go into effect on Tuesday, September 9.

What to Expect:

  • The update will not affect closed transactions.
  • It will apply to any existing transactions that are edited after the update.
  • Invoices may reflect a very slight increase or decrease—typically no more than a cent—due to improved rounding precision.
  • If needed, fees (positive or negative) should be added to adjust the totals to match previous amounts. Check out our Knowledge Base guide on this for instructions.

Add-On Products - New "Only one per transaction" option

Hi there,

When managing an Add-On Only product, you now have the option to mark it as Only one per transaction. This was designed to help with products that need to be included in a transaction but you don't need more than one (like a hand trolly or ladder).

Time-based Delivery Fees

In your delivery settings, you can now have time-based fees, like off hours or weekends, included in your delivery fee calculations!

In your Delivery Settings under the Delivery Time Based Rules you can select the hours and days and the additional fee to be added:

You can now hide Logistics Dates!

Hi there,

In the logistics section of your transactions, you can now hide the fields used to create a timeline.

This table of dates and times can be hidden by selecting the "Hide Logistics Dates" in your Order Settings. To find this option, navigate to your Settings then select the Orders tile. In your Order Settings you'll scroll to the Logistics section and check the box next to the "Hide Logistics Dates" option under the Default Transportation Type heading.

Saving Transaction Filters

Hi there,

We added a feature to your Transactions List to allow you to save your filter combinations to your Quick Filters list.

Once you select your filters, you'll click the new Save As Preset button in the bottom right of your filter options. Then you'll get a popup where you can give the filter combination a name of your choosing. Once you give a name and click the green Save button, it will be added to your list of Quick Filters above your filters drop down. When clicked, your quick filters will automatically select your filters.

Order Snapshots in Activity History

Hi there,

We're excited to share that we've added order snapshots to your Activity History tab in your order view screen! Anytime you click "Update" on your quotes or orders, a snapshot PDF will be generated and saved in the Activity History log.

You do not have to make any changes to turn on this new feature and moving forward you'll have a snapshot for any transaction you update.

We've added a new shortcode for transportation type to your document options! When added to your documents, it will display the selected transportation type.

We added the ability to require contacts when creating a transaction. This option can be enabled under Settings --> Client Settings --> General.

We've updated the client options! You now are able to set special conditions, like special invoice terms, for specific clients by editing their profile. When used, client-based conditions will replace client-type or default conditions. Please reach out to the team with any questions!

You can either add an additional fee to your regular delivery rates, or you can have a specific set delivery fee that replaces your regular delivery rates.
